59-29 Goodbye is hard to say
59-29 Goodbye is hard to say
Dongfang Yun's eyes dimmed slightly. Dongfang Ying waved his hand in front of her face, "Sis, what's wrong? Haven't you heard enough?" Mo Bei also noticed and turned around, "Yun'er, what's wrong?" Dongfang Yun quickly composed herself, "Nothing, nothing. Xiao Mo, Dad wants to talk to you." Mo Bei said, "Okay, okay, take me there." Dongfang Ying said, "If I don't have anything to do, I'm going to play games." Dongfang Yun nodded, and Dongfang Ying was covered by a data stream, then disappeared from the scene. The crowd left in a bustling manner, but orderly made way for them.
A purple light enveloped the two of them, and the next second they were back at the familiar Crown of Myriad Universes. Mo Bei spoke, "What's going on this time? It's always something important, something that advances the plot to some extent. In the Heavenly Yin Empire arc, just look for scenes appearing at the Crown of Myriad Universes, and you can't go wrong." Dongfang Yun forced a smile, "Yes, that's right." Then, she simply looked quietly at Mo Bei, this energetic man.
A whistling wind blew, causing the starlight falling on the virtual surface to flow. Now that National Day is over, this place has resumed receiving foreign guests, but this time it's unusually quiet; they're probably not accepting anyone again.
They finally arrived at Dongfang Shijia's office; the journey had felt exceptionally long. Dongfang Shijia cut to the chase: "Mo Bei, we've found your friends on Earth." Mo Bei's eyes lit up: "Really? Really? That's great! Where are they?" Dongfang Yun was genuinely happy for him. Dongfang Shijia continued, "In the Dark Domain." Dongfang Yun had been worried about this. Although she'd heard the Dark Domain was the most powerful force, she'd never been there herself, and its repeated appearances on the special wanted list had made her uneasy.
Upon hearing the name, Mo Bei said, "Okay, thank you, Uncle. I'll go tomorrow." Seeing their expressions, Dongfang Shijia said, "Don't worry, the Dark Domain isn't as terrifying as you think." Mo Bei shrugged, "I'm not worried either. Actually, I think it's not that bad, haha." Dongfang Yun's brows relaxed slightly, but he was still more saddened by the impending departure.
Mo Bei said excitedly, "Then I'll go back and pack my luggage first." Dongfang Shijia replied, "Okay, go ahead." Upon hearing this, Mo Bei led Dongfang Yun out.
The two returned to Thousand Wonders Forest. The leaves rustled merrily in the wind, yet carried a slightly cool air. The same dirt path seemed to take longer to traverse than usual. Mo Bei began to notice the bushes, branches, and fallen leaves.
After a long while, they finally arrived at the treehouse. Yun Sheng stopped speaking and quietly recorded everything. Mo Bei began packing his luggage, his brow twitching, his hands seemingly busy with something, while Dongfang Yun's head was tucked under the covers.
Mo Bei packed his empty luggage into his small world, took a deep breath, and then spoke, "Yun'er, wait for me to come back." After speaking, he paused for a long time, and only after seeing that Dongfang Yun did not react did he turn and leave. As he exited the enclosure, he looked back one last time, saying, "Goodbye, Yun'er," before heading towards the exit.
"Wait!" Dongfang Yun's voice reached Mo Bei's ears, and he immediately turned and rushed towards her. Dongfang Yun was standing in the treehouse, and Mo Bei hugged her tightly, making her feel like she was floating in the air. Dongfang Yun held Mo Bei, her tears as clear as glass, dripping onto his shoulder.
After a long while, Mo Bei finally let go. Dongfang Yun took out a cloud: "This is 'Bi Yun Mo Duan,' as long as she is here, I am here." Mo Bei squatted down, and Dongfang Yun personally tied it for him, hanging it in his drooping hair. At this moment, Mo Bei looked like a princess.
Dongfang Yun accompanied Mo Bei out of the Thousand Wonders Forest and down to the lower level. The scenery, usually unnoticed, was now exceptionally beautiful. Mo Bei noticed a dazed-looking girl wearing a cat-patterned hat sitting on the very edge of the steps, petals falling around her, her gaze fixed on the light screen at the entrance. He felt a sense of familiarity.
Dongfang Yun, lifted up by the gathering clouds, cupped Mo Bei's face in her hands: "Hey, where are you looking? You can't fall for other girls later, okay?" Mo Bei finally looked away, saying, "No, no, I promise I won't! I swear!" Dongfang Yun smiled: "I believe you, Mo Bei. Well then, it's time to say goodbye. Remember to come back soon, I'll always miss you." Mo Bei almost cried upon hearing this: "Okay...me too."
Mo Bei stood at the edge of the light screen, where the Mo Yun ship had been waiting for some time. Mo Bei looked back at Dongfang Yun one last time; she stood there, waving. Mo Bei boarded the Mo Yun ship, which floated into the air and plunged into deep space. Mo Bei pressed himself against the very back porthole, waving frantically, tears streaming down his face. He was about to leave his beloved and the place that had witnessed so much joy—the Tianyin Empire.
A shooting star streaked past the window; the surface remained remarkably calm, while inside the ship, utter silence reigned.
