73-13 Dream Bubble
73-13 Dream Bubble
Those were Chen Wenwu, Xinghan, and Shenlong. Mo Bei ran through the eastern clouds and embraced them. His grip tightened, as he tried to hide the panic in his eyes from them: "I... I actually passed through the clouds..."
Mo Bei gently released his hand: "Why don't you guys go get some food first? I'll take you." The three of them just nodded mechanically and turned to walk away.
Mo Bei became even more certain of his suspicions: "Have they ever been to the Tianyin Empire? How could they possibly know where to eat..." The Tianyin Holy Sword appeared in his right hand, and he gripped it tightly.
Chen Wenwu turned his head 180 degrees, his eyes glowing red, and uttered a completely mechanical voice that didn't belong to him: "Why didn't you come with me?" The other two also turned their heads 180 degrees, staring intently at him. Mo Bei's teeth chattered, and his hand gripping his sword trembled: "You..."
He realized something, and the trembling in his hands stopped: "You killed my friends?" Upon hearing this, the three men's smiles turned ferocious, and the surroundings began to distort and warp. Mo Bei was pulled along by this layer of spacetime, twisting and contorting, and finally fell into an even deeper layer.
A burst of lightning and flame emerged from the darkness, radiating intense light. Mo Bei used the light to probe other areas.
The shadow before him grew thicker, and Mo Bei had a premonition. He immediately fired a Thunderfire Blast backward, striking the Ghost Dream squarely. The Ghost Dream's raised hands were charred black. Mo Bei pressed his advantage, channeling his spiritual power into the Heavenly Yin Holy Sword. With a single strike, the Ghost Dream disintegrated, and the surrounding dark space vanished, revealing the original scene.
Mo Bei felt that this illusion, riddled with flaws, was so intricate that even killing someone was impossible. In other words, the illusion was both weak and playful, having lured him into it, yet he couldn't kill it; it was full of holes. He then began to observe his surroundings.
Mo Bei noticed two semi-circular objects covering the ground nearby; these were Dream Bubbles, though Mo Bei didn't recognize them. Puzzled, Mo Bei walked towards one of them, placing his hand on it to feel its texture. It was extreme ice, yet also contained a heat that Mo Bei could feel.
Mo Bei tried to reach inside; he had a premonition that Yan Fuxue was inside. As he was thinking this, a sudden suction force pulled him in.
The dream bubble dissipated, and Mo Bei found himself in a room. He could clearly hear his footsteps, though there seemed to be several more. Sensing someone rushing in from outside, Mo Bei quickly found a wooden barrel to hide in; luckily, a crack in it allowed him to see what was happening outside.
Through the crack, a woman rushed into the room and quickly locked the door. Mo Bei wanted to figure out what was happening, but dared not go out. He then thought of something useful: his mental energy. He immediately used his mental energy to spy on the outside world.
Several people were walking on the lawn, the trampled grass blowing through the window into the room and landing on a cradle. The woman's hands were wreathed in extremely bright flames, making her seem even more powerful than Mo Bei.
The flames within the infant's body in the cradle were drawn away, and frost began to form. The woman's hands also burst into flames, wildly scorching them.
The baby was frozen solid. The woman pulled out a letter addressed to "Yan Huayue," signed "Yan Huayu." The letter was tucked inside the stroller, which was then pushed out through a hidden door. At that moment, people burst in, robotic arms flying in to restrain and forcibly take the woman away. Her arms turned to flames and crashed to the ground, igniting a massive fire that engulfed the entire room.
Mo Bei escaped the fire, and when he looked again, the woman and the group had vanished, but the stroller was parked not far away. Mo Bei hurried towards the stroller, and the baby opened its eyes. An infinite distance separated the two, geometrically rotating and dividing them into two worlds.
Mo Bei tried to cross over, but each time he was forcibly reset to his original position, so he had to look for a way to do it.
A pair of ethereal eyes watched everything he did from afar, lightning flames shimmering with starlight flowing out. The lightning flames enveloped Mo Bei as he charged forward, only to be reset back to his original position. Mo Bei said, "Even a powerful displacement like Lightning Flame Strike doesn't work. What kind of strange mechanism is this?" But he wasn't discouraged: "No! My friends are waiting for me to save them. I need to go back to be with Yun'er, and now I must find Qinglan and Yan Fuxue..." Just then, a heartbeat resounded throughout the dream bubble, the barrier trembled slightly, and the baby grew larger. Mo Bei noticed the tremor, and after a moment's thought, he softly probed, "Qinglan?" The barrier didn't change: "Then it seems to be Yan Fuxue." The dream bubble trembled again, and the barrier shortened further. Mo Bei, by repeatedly saying "Yan Fuxue," shortened the barrier to nothing. The baby transformed into Yan Fuxue, opening her eyes, tears still glistening in the corners.
Yan Fuxue wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, and the dream bubble burst open like a splash of teardrops. Mo Bei asked cautiously, "Is this your past?" Yan Fuxue simply nodded, and after a while, she spoke, "Go to Qinglan's." Mo Bei nodded, "Okay, okay, as long as you're alright."
Their hands pressed against the dream bubble, which sucked them in. A wind blast appeared in Xian Niancheng's hand, drawing in the lightning flame. The flame exploded, and Xian Niancheng was thrown back by the blast. A voice seemed to press down from all directions: "I have no intention of fighting you." Xian Niancheng's eyes sharpened, and the wind blast in her hand reformed: "Then leave the children." The smile on that "person's" lips remained. Countless spaces around them shattered, and the "person" vanished into them, leaving only Xian Niancheng staring at everything. She slowly uttered, "When did such a person appear in the Dream Realm? The Great Realm... it seems it's time..." As she spoke, wind gradually gathered around her, enveloping her.
