Chapter 148 One More Time
Chapter 148 One More Time
Bai Rongbei went in first and lit the lamp.
The dim light came on and shone into the empty room.
Su Wanwan stood at the door, watching Bai Rongbei take off his military jacket and hang it up, then turned to look at her.
"Please sit down," he said, his voice unusually clear in the quiet room.
Su Wanwan sat down in the chair, her hands on her knees, her fingertips a little cold.
Bai Rongbei walked to the cabinet, squatted down, opened the bottom drawer, and took out a glass bottle.
It contained half a bottle of clear liquid, which looked like wine.
He came back with the wine bottle and two small glasses and placed them on the table.
"Want some drinks?" he asked, looking at Su Wanwan.
Su Wanwan paused for a moment, remembering Lin Weiwei's words. She looked at the bottle of wine, her heart pounding.
She was actually a little confused as to why Bai Rongbei would take out the wine on his own initiative. Could it be that he overheard her and Lin Weiwei talking?
Or was he nervous and wanted to drink to bolster his courage?
Just as Su Wanwan was feeling a bit confused, Bai Rongbei had already uncorked the glass, poured out a small half-cup, and pushed it in front of her.
Then I poured myself about the same amount of water.
The smell of alcohol wafted out, a bit strong.
Bai Rongbei picked up his own cup, said nothing, and looked at her.
Su Wanwan took a deep breath and reached for her glass. The wine swirled in the glass, reflecting the light.
Without hesitation, she tilted her head back and drank the entire half-glass of wine.
The alcohol was very spicy, burning from her throat all the way to her stomach, making her cough and bringing tears to her eyes.
Bai Rongbei was taken aback by her drinking so quickly. He put down his cup and walked over to pat her on the back.
"Drink slowly," he said.
Su Wanwan coughed until her face turned red, then waved her hand, "It's nothing...it's nothing."
But the effects of the alcohol kicked in very quickly.
Before long, she felt dizzy, her body felt warm, and she seemed to have become bolder.
She looked up at Bai Rongbei standing in front of her. His face was a little blurry in the lamplight, but his eyes were bright.
She stood up, swaying slightly.
Bai Rongbei helped her up: "Are you drunk?"
Su Wanwan shook her head, then nodded, unable to explain it herself.
She felt as if the chaotic tension in her mind had been burned away, leaving only one thought.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around Bai Rongbei's neck.
Bai Rongbei's body stiffened for a moment.
Su Wanwan tiptoed, leaned in, and kissed his lips.
Her kiss was haphazard, purely instinctive; she pressed her lips against his and rubbed them together.
Bai Rongbei's breath hitched.
He put his arm around her waist, pulled her into his embrace, and then took the initiative, lowering his head to deepen the kiss.
The aroma of alcohol lingered between their lips and teeth, mingling with each other's scent.
Su Wanwan felt weak all over from his kisses, her arms wrapped around his neck, almost hanging on him. His arms were strong, holding her waist and holding her firmly in place.
The kiss moved from the lips to the chin, and then to the neck.
Bai Rongbei's lips were burning hot as they touched her skin, sending a shiver down her spine. Su Wanwan tilted her head back, running her fingers through his short hair.
After an unknown amount of time, Bai Rongbei finally stopped, his forehead resting on her shoulder, panting heavily.
"Su Wanwan..." His voice was hoarse and barely audible, "You're not drunk?"
"No, I'm perfectly clear-headed." Su Wanwan was also panting, her head was spinning, but she felt a clarity and boldness she had never experienced before.
She turned her head and kissed his ear.
Bai Rongbei trembled and suddenly looked up at her.
Under the light, her eyes were wet, her cheeks were flushed, her lips were swollen from his kisses, and she was breathing slightly with her mouth open.
His eyes darkened, and he scooped her up in his arms and turned to walk into the inner room.
Su Wanwan gasped softly and hugged his neck tightly.
The inner room was dark, with only a sliver of light filtering in from outside, creating a dim and indistinct atmosphere.
Bai Rongbei placed her on the bed in a slightly hurried manner, but gently lowered her down.
He leaned over her, looking at her.
"Is it okay?" he asked, his voice tense.
Su Wanwan looked into his eyes, which were so close to hers, and the emotions surging within them made her heart tremble.
She didn't speak, but simply raised her hand, gently touched his face, and nodded.
Bai Rongbei leaned down and kissed her.
This kiss was hotter and deeper than before.
His hand slipped under her clothes, his rough palm calloused from years of holding a gun, and pressed against her waist, causing a slight tremor.
Su Wanwan instinctively shrank back, but he hugged her even tighter.
Her clothes had been undone at some point, and the coolness made her a little more awake, but the next second, his warm body covered her, and that coolness was immediately dispelled.
His kisses traveled down her collarbone, and Su Wanwan gripped the sheets tightly beneath her, her breathing becoming completely erratic.
In the darkness, the senses are amplified infinitely.
She could hear his heavy breathing, feel the tremors from each touch, and smell the mixture of sweat and alcohol on his body.
It was unfamiliar, but not frightening.
At some point, Su Wanwan let out a muffled groan of pain, her fingers digging into the muscles of his arm.
Sweat dripped from Bai Rongbei's forehead and landed on her neck.
"Does it hurt?" he asked, his voice hoarse and strained.
Su Wanwan bit her lip, shook her head, and then nodded.
Tears just started flowing for no reason.
Bai Rongbei lowered his head and kissed away her tears.
Su Wanwan felt that the ups and downs of the night were a different kind of unfamiliar, unsettling feeling.
Su Wanwan slowly released her grip on his arm and instead wrapped her arms around his back.
The wind outside the window seemed to have stopped, and the stars hung quietly in the sky.
It took an unknown amount of time before things calmed down.
Bai Rongbei rolled over and lay down on one side, panting. After a few seconds, he reached out and pulled her into his arms, letting her rest her head on his arm.
Both of them were covered in sweat and felt sticky, but neither of them moved.
Su Wanwan lay on his chest, listening to his gradually calming heartbeat, smelling the familiar yet unfamiliar scent on his body, her mind was blank, yet also seemed to be filled with something.
Bai Rongbei gently patted her back, as if to comfort her.
"Does it hurt?" he asked, his voice still hoarse.
Su Wanwan shook her head, buried her face in his chest, and whispered, "It's okay."
Bai Rongbei, confirming that she was still in good condition, kissed her again and said with a sob, "Then, let's do it one more time."
