Chapter 332 - 80: Bullying My Horse?
Chapter 332 - 80: Bullying My Horse?
"Master, the King of Centaurs from the Wasteland seeks an audience."
In the center of the expansive Dragon Pool, amidst the swirling water vapor, a smooth black rock spanning nearly a kilometer floats on the surface.
Upon the black rock, the gigantic Black Dragon paused its cultivation and opened its amber vertical eyes to look at Sofia, the Dragon Maid bringing the news,
"The King of Centaurs?" Udi was somewhat puzzled, wondering why this guy was looking for him.
After contemplating, Udi decided to meet with him.
After all, he is a legend.
"Yes." Sofia retreated.
Soon enough, the light sound of clopping hooves could be heard.
Udi looked over.
Similar in build to ordinary Centaur Warriors, with a height of about two meters and seventy-eight, but the aura of this King of Centaurs was quite impressive. He had deep blue eyes, carefree half-curled black hair, a hooked nose, a rugged face, and numerous scars marking his body.
Power surged within him, with no attempt to hide it.
Udi paused slightly and then chuckled; the King of Centaurs’ unabashed behavior clearly demonstrated sincerity.
No one in the outside world knew that the King of Centaurs had already reached legendary status, and under such circumstances, his actions unmistakably revealed his greatest card.
"King of Centaurs... I know you, so why do you seek an audience with me?" Udi spoke calmly.
Morgan lifted his head, where the towering Dragon’s body was half-hidden in the mist, only partially revealing itself, creating a visually striking image.
Upon seeing the form of the Black Dragon Lord, Morgan knew he had sought the right dragon. He lowered his head slightly, with a hint of respect in his voice, and said,
"Greetings to the esteemed Black Dragon King, I come here seeking to pledge allegiance to your majesty, hoping that you will accept the Gale Race."
Despite suspecting this possibility, Udi was nonetheless surprised.
Given the King of Centaurs’ strength and the Gale Race’s small clan size, as long as ambition wasn’t excessive, they could live well anywhere on the continent... Why seek allegiance to him?
Could his reputation in the outside world have become that significant?
"The allegiance of a legendary Centaur warrior is undoubtedly welcomed by me, but what is the reason?" Udi asked curiously.
Facing Udi’s inquiry, Morgan didn’t hesitate and said directly, "I have offended the Barbarian Royal Court."
Subsequently, Morgan briefly recounted the conflict with the Barbarians from start to finish.
After listening, Udi nodded in understanding.
Having angered the Barbarian Royal Court, Morgan realized he could not stand against the King of Barbarians and did not wish to lead his clan into exile amidst the current chaos.
He truly seemed like a king who took responsibility for his people.
Once exiled and migrated, a significant portion of women and children of the clan would undoubtedly suffer casualties. Not every Centaur was a powerful warrior; most were ordinary Centaurs of unremarkable strength.
After finishing, Morgan felt somewhat uneasy inside.
He was certain the Black Dragon Lord had the power to fend off the King of Barbarians, but uncertain if he would be willing to face the Barbarian Royal Court for the Gale Race.
In external lore, this Black Dragon Lord belonged to the Neutral Faction, and although the Evil Dragon turmoil stirred up by the Crimson Nest had caused forces of the Neutral and Good Factions to distrust him, Morgan chose to trust him.
This choice wasn’t without reason.
Years prior, the Black Wing Nest had risen abruptly, driving the Centaur Women and Children from the Dark Forest without killing them, proving that the Black Nest operated with a certain standard.
Were it truly an Evil Dragon, Morgan had no doubt that the Centaur Women and Children would have been slaughtered entirely.
"Considering the kinship, from now on, you can stick with me." Udi responded lazily after a moment of pondering.
Upon hearing these words, Morgan was initially confused, not understanding what the Black Dragon Lord meant by kinship, but he comprehended that the Black Dragon Lord agreed to accept the Gale Race. The King of Centaurs breathed a sigh of relief and, without hesitation, knelt forward and pledged loyalty.
Udi also granted the Centaur King a Servant Contract, binding him thoroughly to the Black Wing Nest.
After the Servant Contract concluded, Udi instructed,
"For the residence location of the Gale Race and other matters, consult with Shiji. You two can arrange everything."
"Yes." Morgan nodded and then withdrew.
Watching the figure of this man leave, Udi couldn’t help but feel somewhat sentimental.
Ten or twenty years ago, the King of Centaurs was undoubtedly a towering mountain to him.
Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, this fellow became his subordinate?
Regarding the fact that Udi was willing to risk offending the Barbarian Royal Court to accept the Gale Race... Was it truly due to the kinship he mentioned?
Not entirely, but largely so.
When Udi was still weak, trying to develop while hiding in the Dark Forest, the King of Centaurs and the Black Dragon Maiden, a centaur and dragon duo, resisted threats from the Yalbit Kingdom and Kas Duchy. Although not specifically for Udi, inadvertently, he benefited as well.
Without the King of Centaurs resisting adventurers and the threats from the Kingdom and Duchy in the Wasteland, and without the Black Dragon Maiden taking the blame for Udi (though Udi actively passed the blame), he wouldn’t have developed so smoothly.
What Udi meant by kinship referred to this, inadvertently enjoying the benefits given by the Centaur Clan.
The King of Centaurs was clearly unaware of this, as he never considered that the terrifying Black Dragon Lord in front of him was unexpectedly only twenty-something in Dragon Age.
