Chapter 333 Preliminary Round Rules: Brutal Selection
Chapter 333 Preliminary Round Rules: Brutal Selection
IV. Core Rules: Battle Royale Points-Based Elimination System
Ways to earn points:
Player kill: Successfully killing another player will earn you 10% of the target player's current total score (calculated by the system, rounded down, with a minimum of 1 point).
Resource point capture/collection: Different levels of resource points (minerals, herbs, energy springs, etc.) are distributed within the competition area. The first capture/collection will grant a one-time points reward, and continuous capture may grant periodic points.
Treasure Chests/Special Events: Various treasure chests will randomly spawn on the map. Opening them will reward you with points, equipment, items, and more. Triggering and completing special hidden events will grant you high scores and rare rewards.
Kill native creatures: Kill native monsters, elites, bosses, and lords within the competition area to earn corresponding points. The higher the strength, the more points you will receive.
Safe zone mechanism (shrinking circle):
The initial safe zone of the competition area covers the entire map.
After the 24-hour preparation period ends, the safe zone boundary will begin to shrink in an irregular shape towards random locations within the map.
Players outside the safe zone will suffer continuous "Void Erosion" damage.
This damage is true damage, and its frequency and magnitude will increase significantly over time, making it impossible to completely offset by conventional damage reduction.
The safe zone will shrink at an increasingly faster rate over time, and will shrink rapidly in the final circle, forcing players into a final showdown.
Final rankings and advancement:
The first phase lasts for 168 hours (7 days).
The preliminary round will end early if the time limit expires or the number of surviving players in the region is equal to or less than 10.
At the end, the regional rankings are determined based on the total points each player has.
In each region, the top 1000 players in the standings will qualify for the second stage. This means a total of 10 million players will advance in the first round.
V. Special Settings and Restrictions:
Temporary Team Formation: Players can initiate or accept temporary team formation invitations within the competition area. The maximum number of players in a team is 10.
Team members share a small field of view and can conduct simple team channel communication (distance limited).
Points are calculated independently, and the point for a kill is awarded to the person who lands the final blow. Teams can be disbanded at any time by the team leader or by members leaving voluntarily.
Death penalty: Death within the competition area:
If your level does not decrease, your current accumulated points will be halved.
VI. Preliminary Announcement of Phase Two:
The 1000 million players who advance in the first phase will have a 7-day rest period.
After the break, all qualifiers will be randomly reassigned to 100 "secondary zones", with approximately 10 participants in each zone.
A second round of preliminary rounds will be held, with rules possibly adjusted. The goal is to determine the top 1000 players from each sub-region. This means a total of 10 players will advance in the second round.
VII. Final Selection and Qualification for "Misty Continent":
The 10 players who advanced in the second round will be selected through a final selection mechanism (the format of which has not been announced) to choose the 1 players with the best overall performance.
These 1 players will be qualified to represent the 9527th newbie continent and be teleported to the special battlefield – "Misty Continent" – to compete with players from other newbie continents in the final stage of the Battle of the Myriad Realms!

silence.
A deeper, more oppressive silence, even more so than when the announcement was heard, enveloped all the players who had finished reading the rules.
If the announcement was merely a bombshell, then these detailed rules are like a cold scalpel, precisely dissecting the cruel reality of the next seven days and laying bare the bloody truth before everyone's eyes.
"100 competition zones... each with over 70 million people... only the top 100,000 will be selected..."
In the square of Sunset City, the fire mage slumped to the ground, his face ashen, muttering the same numbers over and over again.
"A success rate of... a mere 0.1%? That's... that's a million times harder than getting into a top university through the national college entrance examination!"
"Killing players earns points... and you can steal 10% of their points..." The young archer's teeth chattered.
"This...isn't this encouraging us to kill each other? And the higher the score, the less benefit they get from killing the lower score, while the lower score gets the more benefit from killing the higher score...but the higher score is definitely stronger! This rule...is too cruel!"
"The safe zone is shrinking... Void erosion is dealing true damage... This means it's almost impossible to advance by hiding in a corner! We must keep moving towards the center, and the closer we get to the center, the more people there are, and the more frequent the battles!"
A seasoned soldier captain's face turned ashen; he instantly saw through the intention behind this mechanism: to drive away and select.
"It's a temporary team, but the points are independent... In the end, it still depends on individual rankings." The assassin player's eyes flickered as he analyzed the pros and cons.
"They can cooperate to survive in the early game, farm resources, and deal with strong opponents, but in the late game, especially in the final rounds, the team is likely to fall apart from within, or even... turn against each other."
The panic, far from subsiding after the details of the rules were understood, grew wildly like weeds. This wasn't some kind of "preliminary round"; it was clearly a meticulously designed, unprecedentedly large-scale breeding ground for monsters!
Over seven billion players invested, but only ten million can make it out of the first round! One in a million!
"The system is trying to kill us!" someone shouted in despair.
"No, it's screening."
A calm voice rang out; it was the bespectacled female mage. She had arrived at the plaza sometime earlier and was carefully reading the rules repeatedly.
"Select the strongest, the most adapted to the rules of this game, the most promising... or the luckiest. The battle for supremacy across all realms requires not quantity, but the elite of the elite."
"Elites? What about us ordinary people? Are we just meant to be stepping stones?" someone retorted, but their voice was filled with helplessness.
"A stepping stone... or, seize the opportunity to become a dark horse." The female mage adjusted her glasses, her gaze behind the lenses sharp.
"The rules are cruel, but they also leave loopholes."
You can earn points from resource points, treasure chests, special events, and killing monsters; you don't necessarily have to engage in crazy PvP battles.
If you can avoid large-scale conflicts in the early stages, develop quietly, and accumulate points and equipment, you may still have a chance.
The key is how to survive the initial and most chaotic period, and... how to cope with the shrinking circle.
Her words made some people around her think.
Yes, the rules force people to fight, but they don't mandate that fighting is mandatory.
