Chapter 106 Cleaning the Engine Room
Chapter 106 Cleaning the Engine Room
Lorraine looked up at Platinum with some concern.
"Can you handle the remaining eight zombies by yourself?"
Hearing Lorraine's slightly worried question, Platinum felt both warm and helpless at this sudden show of concern.
"Commander, do you have some misunderstanding about my abilities? Never mind, let's talk about it when I get back."
After Bai Jin finished organizing his equipment, he took out a fire axe from the fire cabinet next to him. After Di Ting confirmed that it was safe below, he went into the engine room alone.
Lorraine stood at the top of the stairs, pointing her gun down below.
Upon arriving downstairs, Platinum first activated the biohazard protection mode, and then switched the night vision mode to thermal fusion night vision mode.
After doing all this, Platinum raised her head and looked into the depths of the corridor.
After scanning the area, Platinum found no zombies. She then silently walked deeper into the engine room, shield in hand and fire axe in hand.
During the movement, Platinum could only hear her own faint breathing.

After reaching the end of the corridor, Platinum pushed open the hatch leading to the engine compartment.
After pushing open the hatch, there were still no zombies in the corridor.
Platinum bent slightly and entered the engine compartment.
After walking into the corridor, Platinum peered down and suddenly saw two figures emitting white light on the screen.
Platinum remained in that position for a while, observing the zombies. After realizing that the two zombies hadn't noticed him, Platinum went down the stairs to the bottom of the engine compartment.
After descending to the bottom of the engine compartment, Platinum immediately checked the surrounding area where the two zombies were located.
After confirming that there were no easily damaged devices such as power lines or electrical boxes in the vicinity, Platinum put down his axe, took out the throwing knife stored at his waist, and quickly dealt with the two zombies.
"Plop, plop."
However, the sound of the two zombies falling to the ground still attracted the attention of the other zombies.
Platinum discerned the location of the zombies from their roars and footsteps.
One on the left, and two in front of the left.
Platinum raised his axe and placed it on his left shoulder, then strode forward, shield in hand.
The moment the two zombies appeared from the corner to the left, Platinum charged forward with his shield, knocking down the zombie that was in front. Then he swung his axe horizontally from left to right, severing the neck of the second zombie.
Platinum bypassed the zombie that was falling to the side, turned the fire axe around, and smashed the head of the fallen zombie.
Then, Platinum repaired the head of another zombie.
After confirming it was safe, Platinum stood up and listened intently to the location of the last zombie.
Still in the same spot? Stuck?
Unsure of the last zombie's condition, Platinum left the fire axe where it was, grabbed a dagger and shield, and followed the sound.
Turning the corner, Platinum saw the last zombie, which was now blocked by a pipe.
When Platinum silently approached within 2 meters of the zombie, the zombie began to roar even louder and struggled frantically in place.
"I wonder if it heard footsteps or smelled human presence?"
As Platinum pondered this, he used his dagger to finish off the zombie.
The surrounding environment returned to silence. Platinum opened the layout map and continued searching for places where zombies might exist.
"There are several isolation wards nearby."
After pinpointing the possible location of zombies, Platinum returned to the corner, picked up a fire axe, and headed to the isolation chamber.
Bai Jin first checked the two isolation chambers on the right. The doors were tightly closed, and after knocking on the doors, there was no response from inside.
Platinum then went to the left, and sure enough, the doors of the two isolation chambers there were wide open.
Platinum first closed one of the hatches, then stood outside and made some noise, waiting for the zombies inside to come out and walk into his trap.
A zombie had just rushed out of the hatch, and before it could even locate Platinum, she killed it with an axe.
Platinum turned around, kicked open the hatch behind him, and sent the zombies flying out.
Then, following the same method, they ended its life at the hatch.
Then, the engine room fell silent again.
"Platinum is calling the Commander."
"Lorraine received. Do you need help?"
"I only found 7 zombies in the engine room. Go to the back of the living quarters and check if the two lifeboats at the stern are still there."
"Got it, I'll go right away."
Before Lorraine could even turn and leave the stairwell, she received a message from Cleveland.
There was only one lifeboat at the stern, and the cranes on the starboard and port sides were not in the same location.
"Okay, I'll be up in a bit."
After hearing Platinum's answer, Lorraine realized that Platinum was moving zombies from the bottom of the hold.
"Do you need me to come down and help?"
"No need. You're lacking protective gear, just find me some bed sheets and throw them down."
Lorraine reloaded his shotgun with lead bullets for breaching doors and opened the cabin where no zombies were present.
"There are only four blankets."
Lorraine pursed her lips, picked up the bundled bedding, and returned to the corridor, peering through the hole in the door at the interior.
He then opened the broken door, stepped over the zombies lying on the ground, and took out three blankets.
"There are seven in total. Should I throw them at the bottom of the stairs or deliver them to you?"
"Just drop it down, then go find two buckets of water; I need to rinse the armor later."
"it is good."
Lorraine then went to the kitchen to find unopened drinking water.
As Lorraine searched, she overheard Platinum muttering to herself.
"Ugh, if Roy were here, I wouldn't be so tired."
Lorraine smiled helplessly and placed the two unopened bottles of mineral water in a place near the stairwell where it wouldn't get in the way.
He then stood at the top of the stairs, waiting for Platinum, and helped her throw the zombie corpse wrapped in blankets into the sea.
Working together, the two quickly cleared away the more than 20 zombie corpses from the entire ship.
Then, Platinum stood by the ship, having Lorraine splash water on her to clean her armor, and said this.
Platinum first pointed to himself, "I am Platinum, and before I was injured, I served in the T1 level special forces in the country."
She then tapped her mechanical leg. "After participating in the Special Operations Lab program, I acquired this powerful multi-functional armor."
"And the pivot squad I am leading now was a strategic unit from the very beginning of the plan, and it only obeys the command of the highest leader of the army."
"With my current abilities and this armor, I could even take on eight fully armed elite special forces in this environment."
"Moreover, the exoskeleton armor I found in the level 2 armory has vastly different specifications from my current armor."
After hearing this, Lorraine realized just how much of a treasure she had found.
