Chapter 96: Prelude Of Chaos (1)
Chapter 96: Prelude Of Chaos (1)The drug was not without its flaws. Arren still remembered the result of the investigation of the drug in the novel. It didn’t reveal a lot, but he got the general idea of it and informed Spade.
They used it as a reference to bravely execute their plan. There were risks, but in exchange for capturing some of the members of the organization, even if they were the lowest members without enough authority, capturing some of them was already enough.
The Old Order was extremely adept in the matter of drugs and their re
"Young Master, it’s time to leave." One of the guards whispered to him, "Someone will escort His Grace, you don’t have to worry. His Majesty specifically told us to make sure of your safety." he continued. They also began to become wary of their surroundings.
Arren nodded and put his right hand to his nose; he was still an omega, and he might be affected by those rampaging alphas. While he was a dominant omega and wouldn’t be affected by the normal alpha’s pheromones in rut, he recalled that he didn’t have to take his December dose of inhibitors. Arren didn’t want to take any risks.
He followed the bodyguards, while he was surrounded by them. He couldn’t even see his path and blindly followed them; the royal guards didn’t dare have any space with their security around him; his identity was extremely important.
Arren also wasn’t worried about his father; he trusted that he would also be safely escorted outside. It was especially so for Spade and the other royals.
He kept up his pace with the guards, not having any wandering thoughts. They were in a hurry as he knew that this chaos was only the beginning, the main show had yet to begin. A fight would only start in the shadows, and that would be the real hunt.
With his escorts, Arren gradually distanced himself from the center of the chaos, but since he couldn’t see anything beyond the big builds of his bodyguards, Arren didn’t know what was happening anymore or the extent of the commotion.
"It’s here," he said, as he stopped in front of their car. However, the bodyguards didn’t leave their positions and were still on guard in their vicinity.
He had no choice but to comply and stood there in the center being protected by his bodyguards. What he could see wasn’t clear, as the figures around him prevented him from watching the scene, even if he could hear some shouts and repeated reminders while the crowd was being escorted to safety.
Arren knew that this chaos would not devolve into a more serious disaster, at least no gunfire out in the open. It wasn’t the war to death yet, more on just introducing themselves. He was confident about this, otherwise, they really wanted to suffer the wrath of not only the Empire but the whole world. An organization that had terrorist tendencies wasn’t permitted anywhere. The leader wasn’t stupid.
Not long after, the Duke also arrived, but for precautionary purposes, they still didn’t move closer to each other. Some nobles also began to arrive.
He couldn’t see them, but Arren already knew how conspicuous he was to others. Even the Dukes didn’t have the same amount of security as he did, and his bodyguards were all elite royal guards too. Fortunately, what was happening was more important than questioning this oddity.
After a few minutes that they had been there, one of the guards began to talk. Obviously, an order was relayed through their earpiece. Arren watched him and listened to what he was saying.
"Yes, your Majesty. Young Master is with us... Yes." He paused and seemed to listen to Spade at the other end. Arren was quite curious about it as every one of them could hear it.
And afterward, he only gave a positive assent before they arranged themselves and shifted attention to him. Arren knew that Spade had issued an order for them about him, and he waited for them.
"Young Master, we can now leave." The man’s voice appeared solemn, and Arren wondered what Spade said to them. However, since they were pressed for time, he didn’t ask and just nodded to them.
They nodded at each other and opened the car for him as he got in. The Duke also followed him, they only stared at each other. The tension was still in the air, especially since the royal guards appeared to be in a hurry to leave.
He looked outside, and he also noticed that the nobles were also starting to leave, but it seemed no one was allowed to leave yet until Arren’s car had yet to leave. Spade seemed so wary of them.
