Chapter 151: Everyone, meet my boyfriend
Chapter 151: Everyone, meet my boyfriendAndrew nervously followed after Maxwell as they entered into the building proper. He knew he must have looked like a complete newbie with his head on a swivel, but he couldn’t help it. This was the company his boyfriend ran. Of course he was going to be interested in it!
"Now, don’t get your hopes up. We aren’t as nice on the inside as the A & D Firm is." Maxwell teased, glancing back at Andrew with sparkling blue eyes. "We don’t have a cafe, but there is one just down the block." Maxwell told him and Andrew nodded as he took in the dark wood furnishings, rich accent colours, and the sleek black and gold tile.
God, it screamed wealth, and also screamed Maxwell.
Everything was neat, tidy, in its place. He was sure every decoration was placed in that exact spot for a reason. From the lush dark green of the trees and plants that decorated the space, to the rich wood tones and gold accents. It should have felt like they didn’t blend well, but everything meshed together in a sense of style that Andrew could only describe as Maxwell.
"I-I’m not expecting you to have a cafe in your lobby, Max. My old company didn’t have that either." Andrew told him and Maxwell chuckled.
"It just doesn’t sit right for me to have a re
"Thank you, Mrs. Carter." Andrew told her, and she grinned.
"It’s not a problem. Have a good day you two." Maxwell patted the pocket on Andrew’s chest before he sighed.
"Alright. Ready for a tour? Do you have all of your materials?" Maxwell asked and Andrew shifted the papers around so that he could hold them in one hand without spilling them.
"I think so." He muttered, glancing down at them and Maxwell’s hand came into view. Andrew smiled, taking his hand in his as Maxwell began to walk.
"Good. I have about 20 minutes before I need to disappear for a meeting, so we need to move quickly." Maxwell told him and Andrew smiled at the back of his head. He was so freaking cool.
~
Maxwell, like Kim, was a good tour guide. He showed off all aspects of his company, surprising and startling several of his employees when he showed up in their departments, but no one seemed upset to see him. Just confused.
From the way he spoke, you could tell he was very proud of everything he had accomplished, and Maxwell also pointed out that he’d hired as many omegas as he could manage. Of course, that meant that someone like Andrew, who wasn’t able to fully control his pheromones needed to avoid certain areas until he could, but Andrew didn’t take it personally.
He would rather others be safe when he could manage it. Plus, he didn’t feel excluded. It wasn’t anything that they could control, and it had always been Andrew’s mission to make others feel comfortable. Andrew was quite proud that Maxwell went out of his way to stand up for his employees.
Maxwell showed off the upper levels of the building, and made sure that Andrew knew where his office was. He even made sure that the other secretaries that helped Mr. Newman knew Andrew’s face and that he always had permission to enter his office. Several of the higher ups in the company stopped to greet them and Maxwell was all proud, bragging about Andrew and his accomplishments.
Andrew would blush and be shy about it, not used to being spoken about so proudly, but it was clear that the people were either humouring Maxwell, or were genuinely impressed with him. All in all, it was a great tour, and Andrew was excited to go down to the research levels.
But, if there was one thing Andrew could complain about, it was the fact that Maxwell kept pointing out where every last closet or small enclosed space was.
Andrew didn’t notice it at first, but as time went on, and he kept mentioning them, Andrew began to grow uncomfortable.
"Um, Max?" Andrew asked as they were in the elevator going down towards the research department. They had a separate elevator going down just to free up foot traffic and make sure that everything was done in a timely manner. It wasn’t about keeping things secret, even if you needed to use your badge to move this elevator, it was more about time.
"Yes, Andrew?" Maxwell replied. He was quickly looking over his emails on his phone while they had a second. He’d asked Andrew if that was okay. It was freaking cute.
"Why were you showing me all of the closets?" He asked and Maxwell paused, before he turned and gave Andrew a dirty grin.
"Why, so that you could drag me to one and have your filthy way with me, of course. Don’t you remember? I’m planning for you to forget any bad memories you had at your old company. The fake name is one step of that, and pouncing on you wherever I see you is another. You told me you two never slept together outside of work, so I’m going to make sure that those memories are erased and filled with memories of me." Maxwell told him and Andrew stared at him in stunned silence.
"You...you mean that?" Andrew was shocked and Maxwell gave him an incredulous look.
"When do I ever lie about something like this, Andy?" Andrew was pretty sure Maxwell never lied about these kinds of things. Andrew was actually pretty sure that Maxwell never lied, or did so very rarely.
"I just, wow. Okay. Uh," Andrew swallowed, his head spinning as he suddenly imagined him and Maxwell tangled up with each other in one of the tiny, small storage closets that Maxwell had shown him. "But you’re the CEO. What if someone catches us?" Andrew asked and Maxwell threw his head back and laughed.
"So what? I’m not going to hide you, Andrew. I thought I made that very clear. Everyone knows that we’re in a relationship. I made sure of it. So what if they think you got hired through nepotism? I wanted your brain and your body and I’m thankful I was able to get both. They’ll soon figure out that you’re an asset to the company." The elevator dinged and the doors opened. Maxwell tugged on his hand, a dirty look in his gaze. "We can’t do anything right now. I have an important meeting. Maybe later, alright?" Maxwell teased and Andrew nearly swallowed his tongue.
The man was going to be the death of him. Andrew hadn’t expected to be this worked up on his first day, yet here he was, having to adjust his cock in his pants before he followed a chuckling Maxwell out of the elevator.
